Counting Wins
In the course of my learning journey and the subsequent documentation through my blog, a close friend shared a profound insight that deeply resonated with me. He articulated the importance of acknowledging our progress, no matter how small it may seem.
My passion for learning and the joy derived from sharing my journey on my blog have been invaluable to me. However, amidst the enthusiasm, I've noticed a recurring pattern of emphasizing my "need to learn" or recognizing my deficiencies rather than celebrating how far I've actually come. This tendency, I've realized, can inadvertently take a toll on my psyche, as an excessive focus on the distance still to be covered can be discouraging.
My friend's wisdom has shifted my perspective. It's crucial, he emphasized, to keep a conscious track of the strides we've made. The inclination to magnify our deficiencies tends to overshadow the significant progress we've achieved. By taking a moment to recognize and appreciate the milestones, regardless of their size, we cultivate a positive mindset that fuels our ongoing learning journey.
